  What a lively little place! We had been travelling from Brantford to see Cedar Row Sanctuary out in Zorra, Oxford County way. We were on our way home and decided to stop for something to eat...not realizing the restaurant closed at 3:00. We were 10 minutes from closing. The wonderful cook insisted we have our dinner, even though it kept them another hour. It's a pleasure to feel welcome in a strange town....but we won't be strangers anymore. I will definitely be back...with friends.

  I stopped at Highland Restaurant on my way to Acton, which was worth the drive, as they say. The fellow who I dealt with was polite and friendly, and even brought my order out to me in the nice little outdoor dining area they have set up on the lawn. The furniture they have collected for the seating arealooked like it was second-hand, which I thought helped to give the restaurant a charming and quaint atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable, and while the size of the hamburger I ordered was pretty big for a small local restaurant, it was a little bland, and could do with some improvement. Good for travellers on a budget. I'd visit again if I were in the area.

  torn between 3 and 4 stars. often the food is excellent but occasionally not so much. I have craved their burgers - that is true. Friendly, weird hours, good coffee, breakfast very good. Prices are from yesteryear so it really does come down to you are never really able to say bad things about the place. Friendly staff and decent service. Bring cash or pay a user fee at the ATM (minus one star). Check hours before arriving as they are sporadic.
